October 4 to 10 Weekly Astrology: When Keeping the Peace Starts to Cost You
Weekly Astrology
You know that feeling when everything looks fine on paper, but something still feels slightly off? Maybe you are saying yes when you mean no, putting off a conversation, or spending way too much time trying to figure out what someone else meant by a text. This week has a little of that energy written all over it.
There is a lot happening around communication, relationships, boundaries, and balance. Mercury enters its pre-retrograde shadow, Venus retrograde meets Mercury and later squares Mars, and the Sun opposes Saturn. Then, on October 10, the Libra New Moon gives us a chance to stop circling the issue and get a little more honest about what we actually want.

Key Transits This Week
October 4: Mercury Enters Its Pre-Retrograde Shadow + Sun Opposes Saturn Rx
Sunday starts with a bit of a "please read that email twice" vibe.
Mercury enters its pre-retrograde shadow, which can make communication and technology feel a little less straightforward as we move toward the retrograde period. The planner specifically notes that as Mercury slows down, our tech and communications can slow down too. So, yes, double-check the calendar invite. Reread the text before you send it. Maybe do not assume that because someone left you on read for three hours, they have secretly decided they hate you.
The Sun opposing Saturn Rx adds another layer. You might run into a responsibility, delay, boundary, or reality check that makes you realize something needs to be handled differently. It can be frustrating, especially if you were hoping to breeze through the day.
The good news is that not every obstacle needs to become a crisis. Sometimes the answer is simply to slow down, figure out what is actually happening, and adjust the plan.
The Moon enters Leo later in the day, which helps lighten things up. After taking everything seriously, do something that makes you feel like yourself again. Watch something ridiculous. See your friends. Put on the outfit you have been saving for no reason. You get the idea.
October 10: New Moon in Libra + Venus Rx Squares Mars
Here we are.
The New Moon in Libra occurs at 8:50 am PT, making this the biggest reset point of the week. New Moons are useful for thinking about what you want to begin, and Libra brings relationships, balance, cooperation, and fairness into the conversation.
But instead of writing down ten things you want to manifest because it is a New Moon, get specific.
What do you actually want to change?
Maybe you want to have a conversation you have been avoiding. Maybe you want to put more effort into a relationship that matters to you. Maybe you want to stop overcommitting yourself. Maybe you want to start a creative project or make a decision you have been sitting on.
The point is not to make the perfect intention. It is to identify something you genuinely want to move toward.
Then Venus Rx squares Mars at 2:17 pm PT, which could make relationships a little spicy.
And by spicy, I mean potentially irritating.
Venus deals with love, attraction, values, and connection, while Mars brings desire, action, and frustration into the mix. With Venus retrograde, something that has been simmering underneath the surface may become harder to ignore.
You might want something that another person does not. You might realize you have been putting your own needs aside. Or you might simply be annoyed by someone who normally does not bother you that much.
Before you send the paragraph.
Pause.
Seriously.
You can feel something strongly without immediately acting on it. Give yourself enough space to figure out whether you are actually upset about what happened today or whether today's situation just hit an older nerve.
October 11: The Moon Enters Scorpio
The day after the Libra New Moon, the Moon enters Scorpio at 8:24 am PT. After spending the previous few days thinking about balance, relationships, and what you want to change, the mood gets a little more private and introspective.
Scorpio tends to dig beneath the surface, so you may find yourself thinking less about what looks good from the outside and more about what actually feels true underneath it all. If the Libra New Moon helped you identify where something needs to change, today is a good day to sit with that realization instead of immediately trying to fix everything.
This can also be a good day to protect your energy a little. You do not have to explain every feeling, share every thought, or make every decision public. Sometimes clarity comes when you give yourself enough quiet to hear what you actually think.

Want something quick?
One question. Clear guidance. A little reassurance when you need it most. 💫

Theme of the Week: Are You Actually Keeping the Peace?
There is a difference between having peace and avoiding conflict.
That distinction feels especially relevant this week.
Sometimes we call something "balance" because we have gotten really good at accommodating everyone else. We answer the late night message. We change our plans. We let the little thing slide. We keep explaining ourselves. We tell ourselves it is easier this way.
And then one day, we are inexplicably furious because someone asked us for one more thing.
This week's astrology gives you plenty of opportunities to notice where that pattern might be showing up.
The Sun opposing Saturn can highlight limits and responsibilities. Mercury conjunct Venus Rx can bring conversations and relationship patterns back into focus. Venus square Mars can expose tension between what we want and what is actually happening.
Then the Libra New Moon asks what you want to do about it.
Not what would make everyone else comfortable.
Not what would keep the group chat peaceful.
What would actually create a healthier balance for you?
That might mean having the conversation. It might mean changing a habit. It might mean asking for more. It might even mean admitting that you have outgrown something you keep trying to make work.
That is not failure. Sometimes it is just information.
Guidance
First, slow down your reactions.
Especially around texts, conversations, and relationship drama. You do not need to respond immediately just because your phone is sitting there waiting for you.
Second, pay attention to where you are constantly adjusting yourself for other people. Compromise is healthy when it goes both ways. If you are always the one bending, it may be worth asking why.
And finally, do something fun.
Not productive fun. Not networking fun. Not "this will be good for my personal growth" fun.
Just fun.
The week has plenty of serious relationship and responsibility themes. You do not need to spend every waking moment analyzing them.

Crystal of the Week: Rhodonite
Rhodonite fits this week's focus on relationships, self-respect, and emotional honesty. It is traditionally associated with compassion, emotional balance, and working through relationship experiences without completely losing yourself in them. Symbolically, it pairs well with the Libra New Moon because it brings both sides of the equation into view: caring about other people while still caring about yourself. Keep it nearby while journaling, or hold it when you need a physical reminder to pause and check in with yourself before automatically saying yes.

Tarot Card of the Week: Two of Swords

The Two of Swords is a pretty fitting card for a week that keeps asking us to stop avoiding the thing we already know needs our attention.
This card often represents indecision, hesitation, or being caught between two options. Sometimes we genuinely need more information. Other times, we already know what we want and we are just not thrilled about what choosing it might require.
That feels especially relevant with Venus retrograde and the Libra New Moon. You do not have to make every decision immediately, but you may benefit from being honest about what you are avoiding.
The Two of Swords is not telling you what to choose. It is simply asking you to take off the blindfold long enough to see what is actually in front of you.

Want to understand your patterns a little better?
Shadow work can help you recognize the beliefs, triggers, and habits that quietly influence how you respond to life. A worksheet gives you a simple place to slow down, reflect, and start noticing what may be underneath the surface.

Closing
You do not have to keep everything peaceful all the time.
Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do is admit that something is not working, say what you actually mean, and let the situation change from there. The Libra New Moon gives you a chance to think about what balance looks like when you are included in the equation, too.
And if all you figure out this week is that you need better boundaries, more honest conversations, and a little more fun, honestly, that is already pretty useful information.

If this message resonated with you, consider it a sign that you're exactly where you need to be.
